Summer Feeding

The Charleston County Public Library (CCPL), Charleston County School District (CCSD), and the Lowcountry Food Bank (LFB) have teamed up to provide free meals and snacks at several library branches for kids this 2024 summer break.

This program, which is in conjunction with CCSD’s Seamless Summer Feeding and LFB’s Summer Meals, provides free lunches or snacks to children and teens in Pre-K through 12th grade during the traditional summer vacation period. Hot lunches are provided by the CCSD’s Nutrition Services Department for distribution at seven CCPL branches Monday through Friday, and all meals meet federal meal pattern and nutritional requirements. Snacks or hot lunches are provided at our rural branches, courtesy of the LFB. There is no eligibility process required for participants to redeem free meals or snacks at the participating branches.

Select CCPL branches will have FREE meals and snacks for kids and teens, age 18 and younger from Monday, June 10 through August 9 with closures for June 19 and July 4 holidays.
